The real reason for this is that there are no predefined paths to follow and no authorities to respect: everyone can find their own path and self-initiate as a practitioner.
There is, however, an upside to the coin: the risk is to get lost among improvised little books and thus acquire scattered notions devoid of any organicity, therefore useless in order to successfully channel the magical power of the rituals.
