Kiraly examines state-of-the-art translator training in Germany and Europe, noting problem areas and possible solutions. He charts a course to more effective translator education by using a sociocognitive model and the results of an empirical study that show the differences between professional and nonprofessional translators and by drawing upon his own experience as a translation teacher.
