In Matrix Theory, the Spectral Mapping Theorem states that for a matrix A and a polynomial p, {Eigenvalues of p(A)} = p({Eigenvalues of A}). Spectral Theory generalises eigenvalues, invertibility and the spectral mapping theorem to Banach algebras.
