YEAR OF THE DOODLE opens with ideas for jumpstarting the doodle habit. Throughout are Sokol's well-loved painted backgrounds interspersed with collaged bits of ledger, graph, and notebook paper. YEAR OF THE DOODLE is not linked to a particular year like a calendar-instead, a year's worth of entries are numbered sequentially so doodlers can start and finish whenever they want.
