This was as funny as anything I've ever read. There is a great deal of humor in most of Moulton's work, but this one is the pinnacle. Definitely. Thing is a delightful character.

Moulton seems to have some kind of obsession about societal imperatives. One would expect to quickly grow tired of it, but he manages to keep coming up with stories that are quite good as well as tales to hold the reader's attention.

I seem to start off my critiques of Moulton by saying it is the kind of thing I do not care for, then saying it was quite readable.
Moulton tends to a certain triteness in his writings, but overcomes that with the concept and other presentation.
One would think that a story about a "berserk" military machine would be one of those juvenile special-effects things with no other content and a plot that...

An imagined life of a boy who discovered he was gay when he was very young. He got himself into strange situations that made a street whore out of him. As he grew older and more experienced, he became more and more addicted to gay sex. His family learned of his sex life, and as much as threw him out. He had to work, but had a natural flare for mechanics, so was doing alright. Not great, in most parts, but his sex life was good to great!

A very absorbing tale. I have read some of C.D. Moulton`s works and am impressed by the imaginative stories. While his style leaves something to be desired, he makes up for that with tales such as this. It moves along nicely and explores motivations very well. ...

I like this one, because of the fantasy parts. They are explained and are consistent with the basic theory of the series.
I have always liked the golems. They are hilarious, and remind me of some of the people I know. By the end, I liked Kurk. A lot!

Rather a strange tale. It has elements I generally don't care for, such as psy powers. I do like the exploration of how a plant might think and the secondary story is fair if a bit too goody-goody. Despite its faults it is a good book.

This was a truly fun book. Tab as a bumbling Maitan verged on the hilarious. I could picture that woman's face as he described the reason for the colors on the map.
