Kashmir has been a contested territory ever since the subcontinent was partitioned in 1947. Despite international attention focused on Kashmir, little is known about the Pakistan-administered Jammu & Kashmir (PAJK), which is at the centre of this study. The author is a winner of the European Commission Award for Human Rights and Democracy.
