This is a story of two Irish Roman Catholic guys from Boston who met in California in 1984 and developed a friendship for thirty-one years that endured through divorces and even the death of a son, until Magennis passed away in 2015.

The book is about a young boy growing up in South Bronx (NY Yankee territory) as a die hard Boston Red Sox fan from 1946 to 1957. His dad took him to Ireland in 1950 to discover his Irish heritage and what it meant to be Roman Catholic.
