Clapping Music (1972) wurde aus dem Wunsch komponiert, ein Stück zu schreiben, für das lediglich der menschliche Körper als Instrument erforderlich ist. Der erste Spieler wiederholt das aus zwölf Schlägen bestehende Muster durchgehend, während es der zweite Spieler jeweils taktweise um 1/8 Wert verschiebt und damit verschiedene rhythmische Kanons schafft, am Schluss gelangt er mit dem ersten Spieler wieder ins unisono.
