Prize winnring works which were entered for the "Saarland Composer's Competition for youth guitar orchestra" at the Saarland Kindergitarren Tage in 2010. This is the first in a series and features four very attractive ensemble works, which were exremely popular with the guitar orchestra members as well as with the audience and competition jury.

Transcribed for Guitar Duo by Jan Hron, the composition Cantique de Jean Racine op.11 was originally written for mixed choir and piano (or organ) and dedicated to Cesar Franck, it was composed in 1864-1865.

Schubert knew and played the guitar well enough to compose for it as this work and the Cantata D-80 demonstrate. His reworking of Matiekga's Notturno by adding a cello part is a fine example of Schubert's involvement with the guitar.

This Work was commissioned by Miguel Angel Castellanos Martinez under the auspices of the Sistema Estatal de Creadores de la Secretaria de Cultura in Michoacan, thanks to the Programa de Coinversiones para la Produccion Artistica of Michoacan. The Suite, for solo guitar, won 3rd place (no first prize was declared) at the 2nd International Competition for Classical Guitar "Claxica 2010" Bologna.
