This volume deals with an important aspect of the physics of high-temperature superconductors. In recent years a wealth of experimental and theoretical work has accumulated on the subject of anharmonicity in connection to either superconductivity or lattice properties of superconducting oxides. The papers, by leading experts, are the proceedings of the first workshop dedicated to dealing with these issues.

This volume provides up-to-date information on selected topics in nuclear physics and their future prospects. Topics discussed include nuclear astrophysics, synthesis of very heavy elements, physics with exotic nuclei, heavy ion collisions, spin-isospin excitation. This volume contains 47 papers by invited speakers and nine summaries by chairpersons.

The conference promotes the theoretical and methodological development of crystallographic investigations of aperiodic crystals including modulated structures, polytypes, incommensurate misfit or composite crystals and quasi crystals. It also promotes scientific interchange among groups working in the various fields of aperiodic materials. Special emphasis will be given to multidisciplinary aspects of aperiodicity.
