The revolution, which began with slogans of liberty and prosperity, ended with the liberty to destroy and to kill foreigners of all races. Our Indonesian friend continues with these simple words: Out of this ferment emerged the tragedy and problems of the Indonesian State and its peoples after their libera tion. Indonesia, one of the richest countries of the world and a nation with every possibility for advancement, be came, as it were, swamped in a morass.
