Bailleul, (nicolas Louis de, ) a celebrated French law er, descended from the Nicolas Baille who rendered some important services to Henry IV. Of France. In 1677 he became a counsellor of the parliament, and in 1685 the r'ever sion of its presidency, then filled by his father, was given to him, and he came into possession in 1689. He died on the 14th of August, 1714, leaving an only son, who died without issue in 1718.
