Chores done, Angelica headed for the front of the barn when she heard a strange noise behind the tack room door. She froze and listened. A muffled grunt from behind the door sent goosebumps down her spine. Who's in there? she wondered. The barn felt dark and threatening now. She approached on tip toes and leaned her ear against the door. This time she heard a sneeze. Quickly, she pulled a hammer off the wall and, heart pounding, she jerked open the door. Angelica stared into the dirtiest face she had ever seen, while the boy's raised fist threatened her with a pocketknife.
