Excerpt from A Practical Treatise on the Diseases of ChildrenThe attention of pathologists has of late been much engaged by the important subject of Tuberculisation, some contending, that it is the result of in¿ammation, and others, of an opposite condition, The disposition to this morbid process, 'as I have stated, may be hereditary, or acquired, but I have endeavoured to show, that its developement is dependant on vascular excitement, produced by external injury or atmospherical vicissitude, and that the process, by which the morbid product is deposited, is of an in¿ammatory nature.
