Young Montague Mad-Rat isn't taken very seriously when he learns of a plot by humans to turn the piers many rats live on into parking lots. Everything seems against his plans to save the other rats, until he finally realizes lots of things really are in his favor including Isabel Moberly-Rat, his uncle, and his own talent for painting seashells.
