The shared tendency of such reviewing essays and reflections seems to volley around existential themes, thoughts and reflections such as found, amongst others, in philosophers as different and varied as Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche, Søren Kierkegaard, Gabriel Marcel Jean-Paul Sartre, Albert Camus. The first part of the book's title, A Saint & a Goose, is the heading of a writing that somehow "poe-philosophically" involves within it Wilhelm F. Nietzsche and Karl Gustav Young with the humble author.
