First, some readers who are terribly sen sitive to the voice and conclusions of Prot oetaut criticism have been shocked by cer tain words and phrases which the blessed servant of God has used in different parts of his treatise. For instance, hero and there the Blessed Virgin is called the dim Mary. We do not say this is a usual way of speaking of the Blessed Virgin, or that any one is called upon to adopt it. But it is quite certain that the Word divine may he'used without attribut_ao.
