600 years ago, Homo Sapiens diverged from Homo Neanderthalensis (the Neanderthals). They became separate subspecies, without loss of interfertility. Christian believers were surprised when geneticists discovered that the human population bottleneck never fell below one thousand people.Recently, geneticists discovered a strange gender asymmetry in our ancestral history. All presently living Eurasian aboriginal populations carry Neanderthal genes. These genes are exclusively due to hybrid progeny of a Neanderthal father and a sapiens mother. No indication exists of hybrid progeny of a Neanderthal mother and a sapiens father. Another example of such gender asymmtry is the discovery of horizontal gene flow, some 300 thousand years ago, from sapiens to Neanderthal. This gene flow was again exclusively due to hybrid progeny of a Neanderthal father and a sapiens mother. This startled the scientific community. Abaelardus proposes a brilliant novel hypothesis, which respects both the Christian belief and the scientific data.
