As we have found the proportion of two ingredients necessary to form a compound of a required value, 80 also we may con sider either of these in connexion witha third, with a fourth, and so on, thus making a compound of any required value, con sisting of any number whatever of simple ingredients. The two ingredients used, however. Must always be, one of a greater and the other of a less value, than that of the compound required.
