According to the statistics reported by the National Crime Records Bureau 2019 report, the rate of total cognizable crime (IPC)Indian penal code in India is 241.2, and in Gujarat, it is 204.4. The total prison occupancy rate, India: 119% and Gujarat occupancy rate: 110% (India justice report, 2020). The significantly high crime rate denotes a critical phenomenon our society is struggling with on a day-to-day basis. At the same time, increasing occupancy inside the prison is also concerning. With increasing crime rates and occupancy in prison, we must see the impact of rehabilitation of offenders through a closer lens. It becomes all the more crucial to incorporate the psychological aspect of treatment also targeting recidivism, which is still unexplored in India, as an integral part of rehabilitation, especially in violent offenders. Therefore, the current study aims to answer the need for scientific methods to cope with crimes, including Therapeutic Interventions in prisons. There is sufficient evidence to suggest [(Hunsley et al., 2013, Ardito & Rabellino, 2011, Serin et al., 2008, Ross (n.d.), Ronel & Elisha, 2011, Casey et al., (2007), Day et al., 2008, Ware et al., (2011)] that violent offenders exhibit significant readiness undergoing through systematic Therapeutic Interventions. Prison lifestyle affects the mental well-being and self-esteem of the offenders, which can be addressed through Therapeutic Interventions to create a significant impact on their thought process and behaviours.
