She begins with the miracle of birth as she lets her mind wander to memories of lambing season in straw-filled barns back in Minnesota. She describes these laps as luxurious laps of beauty, the laps of angels. She goes on with a fun and mischievous description of children who are "young angels with dirt under their fingernails, who fly kites like they had their spirits tied up in the tails." She likes "children who splash in puddles and come home with dirty socks and talk of adventures." In this well-crafted work, she then embraces the death experience as a beautiful experience "when life, as we know it, leaves with the gentle spirit of a farewell kiss, as peace comes gathering round."
