Our Fathers broke the yoke of Britain, you have broken the yoke of the slaveholders.The promise of the Revolution is fulfilled. The Declaration of Jefferson has blossomed in the Proclamation of Lincoln. The cannon Of '65 have blown to atoms what the cannon of '76 only wounded.And, fellow citizens, this last four years' struggle, from which we have just emerged, has been only a continuation and comple~ tion of the Revolutionary war.
