Dr. Frank Putnam, in collaboration with Dr. Penelope Trickett, is carrying out a study of sexually - abused female children (aged 6 - 15) and matched controls. The effects of sexual abuse on psychological and physiological maturation are assessed. Specific attention is given to dissociative symptoms and the develop ment of inappropriate sexual and aggressive behaviors.
