This edition and annotated translation of al-Qāsim's Kitāb al-mustarshid includes a discussion of anthropomorphism and interpretation of the Qur'ān in the theology of the Zaidite imam al-Qāsim ibn Ibrāhīm (785-860 A.D.). Al-Qāsim's methods of interpretation are put forth and analyzed in light of early Qur'ānic exegesis.
