He heard yelling voices and then a warm, husky female voice came on the line. The voice had a southern drawl that made a man think of long hot nights. "Hello? This is Miss Stone. How can I help you?" she asked. Jake couldn't think for a minute. "Suze? It's Jake. Jake Halloran. I got your telegram. I'm sorry to hear about Tom. I just wanted to let you know that I will be there. I am leaving tonight, I should be there about mid morning tomorrow." He told her. There was a long pause. "That would be fine, Mr. Halloran. I'll have a room ready for you. You will stay here at Ravenswood, of course. Is there any thing else that you will require?" she said. Jake thought the conversation was strange. She didn't sound at all like he had thought that she would. There was something he didn't know. But he answered her anyway.
