Beside the Bowery (Classic Reprint)

Excerpt from Beside the BoweryIt is, therefore, not the purpose of this book to present the reader with an ordinary biography of personal description and facts in chronological order. It is enough to condense such a biography into briefest outline. Mrs. Rockwell lived the earlier part of her life in Binghamton, N. Y. After the death of her husband, she came to New York to study in the Training School for Christian Workers of the New York City Missions. She started on her work at the Church of the Sea and Land in 1894, and continued there for fifteen years. For those who did not know her, we might add that she was tall and slender almost to frailty.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
