Excerpt from Bibliography of the Town of HeywoodAnderton (henry). Was born at: walton-le-dale, December 3rd, 1803, and died at Bury June zist, 1855. Anderton was known as a poet and lecturer on temperance, and was one Of the famous band of seven who, with Joseph Livesey, made the missionary tour in 1833 to the chief towns in Lancashire in order to establish societies on the teetotal principle. _hey wood was one of the places visited. Anderton resided in Heywood during part of 1847 and 1848. His Stanzas on the death of a young Christian first appeared in Choice dialogues and published by John Heywood, Market-street, Heywood, 1847. Part 5, pp. 2 5-27.
