The nature of the farming community with its rock base of family continuity and the solid connection to the earth has never ceased to be a surprise and a wonder to me, a person who spent all of her years in cities and suburbs.This is why family history of church members took up so much of the time I've spent on this project. There is still more to do. I'm afraid that what was such a joy for me to write might be a little tedious to read for you who already know all this, and more besides.
