Bolton bought the mill property from George Bol ton and two years later moved the Mill to its present site. That was a tremendous undertaking at the time, as the big hill had to be cut through to build the race, and' a high race bank to be built right up to the old dam, but it was a great improvement as it gave the new mill a head of 13 feet while the old one had only four and a half. The new mill was a five storey frame building with two run of stones, and is now the west half of the present mill. In 1850 he built an addition to the mill as large as.the first mill, which is the pres ent mill. He also built a large cot tage and stables on the rising ground on King St.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
