Nikolai Bukharin was murdered in Moscow during the Stalin purges and his reputation has only recently been rehabilitated in the USSR. His work as a key theoretician in the New Economic Policy of the 1920s has a continuing relevance and in this volume it receives close and critical scrutiny.
