When Roberto, an arrogant Peace Corps volunteer is sent into the Andes Mountains of Peru, he finds himself facing bus wrecks, Shining Path Communists, cocaine, drunken Indians, loneliness, suicide, disease and earthquakes in the small Sodom and Gomorrah village of Yungay.
