Christmas chimes.

Christmas chimes, how sweet they ring!
Tidings of great joy they bring,
Pealing on the midnight air,
Joy! salvation! everywhere.
The twinkling stars that shine so bright
Are smiling down in glad delight.
E'en as they smiled upon the earth
The evening of the Saviour's birth.

Humble shepherds heard and saw
The wondrous sight with fear and awe.
