The war is over. The Axis powers have surrendered and the world has been rebuilding itself towards normality. However, in that winter of 1947, another war had just begun. On a holiday to visit long-abandoned relatives in County Cork, Brendan Keane, a celebrated professor of psychology, and Joanna 'Jo' Lawrence are forced to face an unseen enemy whose weapon extracts the blood of buried secrets.
