Many analyzes on migrant workers from human rights perspectives focus on human rights violation and legal instruments, without discussing the broader political and economic context. A case study on human rights protection for Indonesian Domestic Workers in Malaysia shows how socio-economic factors shape the migration flows, the domestic and international law relates to of migrant workers. The book is based on conceptual framework and theoretical foundation relates to globalization, new international division of labour, feminization of international migration and domestic works from sort of selected theories and perspectives. Some observation and semi-structured-in-depth interviews were conducted toward the key social actors, thus there are genuine information related to the protection of Indonesian Domestic Workers in Malaysia. Some findings and recommendations in this book are useful to promote the protection of migrant domestic workers. Therefore, this book is useful for socio-legal scholars and human rights activists who interested in critical approach on human rights.
