It's almost Valentine's Day in Shady Corners, and Aurora "Rory" Aspen is all-in on the day of love.

After all, she has a handsome boyfriend, a thriving event business, and fabulous employees who pick up the slack. They're so good that Rory can accept last-minute Valentine's Day ball events and still have time to do other things.

But when someone who attends one of her events is murdered right afterward, Rory's free time is suddenly all spoken for. She wants to find the killer and keep her business' good reputation.

But can she figure out the mystery before the killer strikes again? And can she keep herself on-track when her mother returns to Shady Corners, along with ominous warnings about a scary evil wizard who wants Rory's spirit magic? Or will she lose control of all the balls in the air and fall victim to a bad guy herself?
