Daniel Hunter wakes to find himself in a futuristic, constantly changing four-story building called The Complex with virtually all his recent memories gone and only a strange gun and a list of bizarre clues to a murder in his pocket. Increasingly startled by corresponding changes in his own appearance and personality, he questions not only his attitude to the murder and The Complex, but also his very identity.
