Occasionally the soul feels that it has found peace and a convincing happiness practicing any religion, espousing a philosophy or pursuing an artistic or intellectual ideal. But whenever an overwhelming anxiety comes to show that the chosen religion is not the proper one or the insufficient one, and found out that that theoretical philosophy is useless or that ideal believer built over many years, fell at his feet shattered instantly.
