Feasts and Friends is an inspiring collection of recipes, ideas and cooking tips that originated in the exotic kitchens of Afghanistan, Brazil, Vietnam, Liberia, Iraq, El Salvador, Iran and Sudan. The idea for the book came out of Women Together, a group of volunteer local woman who met, cooked and gossiped with other women who had recently arrived in Australia. During these weekly meetings the women gathered around a kitchen stove and shared stories, ideas and recipes from their homelands. Wonderful recipes are enriched by the personal stories of the nine contributors who give us a glimpse into their lives before and after they arrived in Australia.
