Snow surveys indicate the water stored as snow in the Snake River and Owyhee River drainages to be 70 percent and 65 percent, respectively, of the March 1 15 year 1938-52 average. The Humboldt River drainage is about 55 percent of the 15 year March 1 average. The Santa Rosa Mountains north of Paradise valley measured about 65 percent of the March 1 average.Snow surveys in the Charleston Mountains near Las Vegas indicated about 55 percent of average. White Pine County snow courses measured 52 percent of the March 1 average. During the month of February, Rye Patch storage increased about 5000 acre feet to a March 1 capacity of acre feet. As measured by the U. S. Geological Survey, runoff on the Humboldt River at Palisade and west Walker River near Coleville, California was considerably above average.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
