He would then be justified in stating that alcohol is not a food, provided that he made perfectly clear the limited sense in which he was using the word (page But it is difficult to imagine, especially in view of what is pointed out above, that anyone will attempt to maintain such a position. If the facts underlying the Committee's conclusions are accepted the food value of alcohol is no longer in dispute.
