After a year of basic research and note - taking, however, Dr. Kimball decided to step aside. Dr. Kimball gave me her notes and later on, her opinions of my early chapters, which she proofread and edited. She is a remarkable lady, and I value her friendship.Although I was trained to be a journalist and teacher, not a historian, I am honored that Dr. Hendricks thought I could do this. In my fifteen years as director of public relations for the College, I wrote hundreds of news and feature stories, press releases, and promotional materials for the College and took thousands of photographs.
