When I began this little book it was from a few rough notes jotted down at random, sometimes with a View to an incident in a play, or to enable me to remember the story to which it referred, but one day it occurred to me that perhaps a few of my reminis cences might be somewhat entertaining to my friends and also to the Great Public, to whom Iowe so much.
