She married, in Duke Center, Pennsylvania, July 2, 1890, Phineas Lounsbury Golden (see Golden III).The Ripley family in America traces its descent through vari ous lines to the earliest settlers in this country. The immigrant ancestor, Wil liam Ripley, came from England, probably from Windham, which is distant a few miles from Hingham. Accompanied by his wife, two sons and two daughters, he settled at Hingham, Massachusetts, in 1638, where he was admitted a freeman on May 18, 1642. The date of his birth is unknown, his death occurring July 30, 1656. He was twice mar ried, the name of his first wife not being given. His second wife, whom he married, September 29, 1654, was Elizabeth, widow of Thomas Thaxter, she survived him and married John Dwight, of Dedham, dying in 1660.
