Mrs. Hale was born in Boston, Massachusetts, August 81, 1798, the daughter of Seth and Susannah King. Her grand uncle, Captain Seth King, was a captain in the old French War, assisted in the capture of Havana under Duke of Albemarle and Admiral Pocock, in 1762, and died in New York in that year.
