So short a book as this does not, of course, make it possible to see all sides and aspects of the conflict which is raging at present in Germany between Christianity and the new religion. In the first article, written by Hauer especially for foreign readers, he describes the origin and sketches the aims of his movement. In his second, which is in form of a lecture delivered to an audience of ten thousand at the Berlin Sport Palace in April of 1935, he sets forth in outline his criticisms of Christianity and his positive contribution to religious thought, together with various suggestions for the reform of education in Germany, etc. In his third article, which is an extract from his recent book A German view of God, he defines his attitude to Christianity in general and to Jesus Christ in particular.
