Mi deseo principal al escribir esta guía ha sido el de que su publicación resulte útil á los jóvenes alumnos del Conservatorio, reuniendo en un pequeño volumen y bajo la forma de lecciones cuanto he considerado nece sario en historia del teatro y literatura dramática.

Extensa por demás era la materia y no muy fácil de encerrarla en algunas páginas, según mi propósito.
