Guide for Ushering in the 21st Century

Guide for Ushering in the 21st Century is an autobiographical narrative/exposition of ushering that presents actual experiences behind God-guided usher team developments. However, this is no ordinary "How To" Christian book. It is a real story, with real characters in real-life situations that take place on a small church campus. The conflict and climax encountered through an effort to train ushers as key point people in church reflects a challenge that every church experiences. The plot thickens with explicit detail that describes real events that happen behind the corridors of the church when leadership seeks to change structures. Chapters 1-3 introduces the reader to the difficulties of initiating training for ushers and "what" it takes to get started, and "how' to start. Chapters 4-5 demonstrates recruiting and preparing ushers. Then the author describes the discipline necessary to acclimate to structure, which invariably leads to resistance. The plot thickens with conflict through Chapters 6-9. In Chapter 10 the plot reaches a Climax as the leader of the team implodes as organizing efforts explode! In Chapters 11-15 the plot changes direction and reads like a novel! In the end, the author takes a "low road" of humility to point out the importance of forgiveness that heals relationships and becomes the key to change. It is a must read for every serious pastor and leader who see the ushering team as a ministry of "Helps" to come alongside worship. The author says, "Ushers provide a vital service that relieves other departments of burdens by providing total care for the congregation and visitors." ¿
