The eight day it was very foggie, the winde at North and by East, with Snow and Frost: I stood to the East wards, in hope to get the Easter end of the Ice, and so to Chery Island, and I ranne into a Channel] betweene two firme bankes of Ice, and could finde no way through, but lay in the Ice till the ninth day at a South Sunne. Then I observed, and found the Ship in the altitude 74. Degrees and I7. Minutes, the winde being at North North-west, very faire weather, but frostie.
