In his new book Harvest Rod Grant uses his verse to explore the current state of humanity as well as its prospects for the future as Homo Sapiens. In the title poem Harvest, he uses his experience gardening as a springboard to a hopeful outlook for his personal future. In Solstice, the book's final poem, he looks to the Earth's yearly cycles to ponder his own mortality.
