The standard history of the county, this work has been reissued under the sponsorship of the Susquehanna County Historical Society and includes a new Foreword and an added Index of Names. Sections of the work are devoted to the formation and settlement of the county schools and churches, societies, townships, and prominent citizens, with lists of early settlers, officers, judges, members of Congress, state legislators, physicians, soldiers, and others. In addition, the work includes a vast selection of township annals and is profusely illustrated with maps, charts, and portraits.
